Lyons, Wisconsin (United States of America) - "Memorial Day Run". This event is a perfect way to celebrate, remember, and honor all those that have served our Country. Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. This event will be taking place on the White River Trail State Trail with the start and finish in downtown Lyons, WI. The White River Trail is a rails-to-trails crushed limestone path on the former SOO railway. This trail is canopied by trees and provides the perfect place to reflect on the selfless service the military provides. This is a dog-friendly event, so feel free to bring your four-legged running partner with you! This event is FREE for our Veterans, Active Duty, Reserves, Law Enforcement, and their spouses. Please email us for your free sign-up promo code and attach a picture of your military or work id. Entry fee for all others is $24.00 with online sign up and $34.00 the day of the event. Swag will be available for purchase. Online sign-up will conclude at 10am on the Friday before the event.
